(Note: Postsecondary includes degree granting institutions.) The Accrediting Commission's recognition by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) are for postsecondary programs purposes only. Since the U.S. Secretary's authority is statutorily limited to postsecondary institutions in the United States, this federal recognition encompasses only DETC accreditation in this area.
